Our Waterproof Mattresses and Bed Bases have been in use for many years. We make them solid foam and they are covered in PVC. They don’t break and are extremely tough, durable and practical. All our bed bases and mattresses are Autism and special needs friendly. They are also used in care homes and secure units, where the standard mattress and bed bases just don’t last.
We also make our beds in a bite resistant, waterproof fabric. Waterproof mattresses and bed bases can be ordered in single or double sizes, separately or together depending on your requirements.

Every bed we make has been designed to be water resistant, and they are highly unlikely to suffer from any form of water damage. Our beds are incredibly durable & unbreakable. Our design has been used for over 20 years and has stood the test of time.
The outer layer of each bed is covered with heavy duty PVC Vinyl. This combined with our unique stitching ensures a waterproof bed.
The inside of the mattress consists of a comfortable regular grade foam and our bed base consists of a dense foam block that holds its form.
We place our seams in specific areas to prevent liquid getting into the mattresses and bed bases. Our seams are placed along the side boarders of the product, in areas where liquid is less likely to run into the insides of the beds.
Sadly, regular mattresses don’t offer the same level of water protection that our waterproof beds can. When a regular mattress has been damaged by water, it may harbor mold as liquid can seep in through the upward facing seams around the sleeping area of the mattress.
At Stretton's we also cater for people with Autism and Special Needs. All of our mattresses and bed bases are made with no springs. We only use foam which has less of a reflex bounce than a spring mattress. As a result this creates a much calmer state of mind for the person at bedtime. The foam mattresses have less reflex bounce than a regular mattress, so a child will not “re-bound” when they jump, making it less likely for them to fall and injure themselves.
